THIS CONCERT IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF KONSTANTINOS PYLARINOS, FOUNDER OF CAMERATA JUNIOR. The Children’s String Section of Camerata Junior will open the evening with the playful yet stylistically refined Brook Green Suite by GUSTAV HOLST. The Youth Section of the Symphony Orchestra — now the Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra in Residence at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall — will then take on the explosive and demanding Symphony No. 7 by LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN.
The concert will culminate in the appearance of the gifted violinist SIMON ZHU, winner of the 2023 International Paganini Competition, who also received the special prize for Best Interpretation of NICCOLÒ PAGANINI’s virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1 — the very work he will perform on this distinguished evening.
